1408년(태종 8) 사간원 좌정언이 되고, 1424년(세종 6)
회례사가 되어 불경을 가지고 일본에 다년온 뒤, 우사간에 이어 병조,
예조, 형조, 공조, 이조참판, 대사헌,황해도를 비롯해 각 도의 관찰사,
형조판서,
우참찬, 공조판서 등을 지냈고 치사할 것을 청했으나 허락되지 않조
이조판서에 예문관 대제학을 겸임했다.
