1682년(숙종 8) 증광문과에 갑과로 급제, 목사를
거쳐 지중추부사에 이르렀다. 당시 국가 사회의 정책·제도를 문답식으로
날카롭게 풍자한 '요로원야화기'는 그의 저서이고, 이밖에 '삼운통고보유'를
편찬했다.
